Planning a Baby Shower in Twin Cities, Minnesota
baby shower in minnesota

Planning a baby shower in the Twin Cities Metro area can be daunting. We have so many amazing venues, caterers, and party planners, you might find yourself feeling a little lost.

I’ve created this ‘Planning A Baby Shower’ blog to help make this task a little easier. I’ve even included a fabulous pack of baby shower party games for you to download completely free of charge. Simply print them out for your shower and the games are taken care of. You’ll find the party pack at the bottom of this article.

Firstly you’ll need to decide if you are going to have your baby shower at home or in a venue. You may want a more relaxed affair and home could be the perfect choice for you. Bear in mind how many guests will be attending your baby shower and if you’ll need help with the set up, prep and then the cleaning up afterwards. You might not feel up to all of that while heavily pregnant!

If you decide you’d rather have your shower in a venue and leave the prep and cleanup to someone else, you’ll find we are spoiled for choice when it comes to baby shower venues in Saint Paul and Minneapolis.

Here are a few locations that stand out in my list:

  1. Harriet Place: A description from their website says ” Tucked away in a charming neighborhood near lovely Lake Harriet. Built in the 1930s, the space has been recently renovated and features multiple inviting rooms filled with high design and tons of natural light.”
  2. The Marsh in Minnetonka
  3. The Lowell Inn in Stillwater: A description from their website: “With four venues to choose from, you cannot go wrong with any of Lowell Inn’s event rooms. Our event and wedding venues in Stillwater, MN, can comfortably entertain anywhere from 10 to 220 attendees. Over 70 years of “Exceptional Event Planning Service”.
  4. Nord Social Hall at French Meadow

Once you have your venue sorted, you need to think about catering. You definitely don’t need to go over the top with catering, and if you choose a venue that also provides food, they will help guide your decision.  You will also want to consider a cake for your baby shower. I can highly recommend The Buttered Tin  who I have had the pleasure of working with their cakes for several of my cake smashes.  The team is super nice and ready to help!  Take a peek at their website here.

Decor is the next thing you’ll need to consider. Balloons are often the decor of choice when it comes to baby showers, and we have lots of amazing companies here in Minnesota to choose from.  I highly recommend Brights Event Co.  Their website can be found by clicking here.

Finally you need to consider games and entertainment. You’ll have guests attending from all areas of your life so they won’t necessarily know each other. Baby shower party games are loads of fun and help break the ice as well as give you some lovely keepsakes of your event. I’ve designed a gorgeous Baby Shower Party Game pack that you can download free here.

I’d love to hear how your baby shower goes and if you enjoy the games I’ve created for you!
